Clark's are all about staple pieces, essentials and investment shoes. Known for their quality and super affordable price-points, they've also got some great leather boots for the Winter season - so not every day has to be a day for wellington boots. This way men can keep there toes dry and still look rather smart if they need to. After all the weather has been somewhat schizophrenic lately.

We're also really digging the Harris Tweed combo boots [left and below] - wonderfully modelled! You can find the brogue style for a mere £79.99 and the mid-cut suede option for an even friendlier £49.99. You can't really go wrong to be honest. From the main range we have chosen our essential Winter boots with a couple of smart and casual options - see our recommendations below.

When cars meet fashion and charity we imagine the end result to be something like this. Auto legends Alfa Romeo have launched a new campaign with Heart Research UK to help raise awareness of the charity's fight against heart disease. We're only too happy to spread the word, and even more so because this story has a sartorially-led fashion agenda.

This project has seen the design and creation of six limited edition pocket squares - each at £14.99 - handmade from 100% Italian Silk. The personalities behind all of this include Peter Jones CBE from Dragon's Den [who's contribution is pictured left] and actor Tom Ellis modelling his own [pictured below] together with the designers behind the PPQ label who show at London Fashion Week.

We almost lost them back in April but it would have been a serious crime to see a brand steeped in so much British heritage fall off the fashion map. As Aquascutum pick up the pieces and prepare for a total resurgence next year, we take a look at their AW12 collection [available now] and remind ourselves just how great this brand is.

We've chosen our essentials for the season and beyond the classic trench coat there are the staple Autumnal pieces such as the checked scarf and shawl collar cardigan from the Golf range. The accessories are what really caught our eyes - especially that stunning hold-all [pictured below] and this stone grey tote [left] priced at £400 - impeccably slick detailing. We're so relieved that Aquascutum is here to stay.

Baume et Mercier are luxury pioneers of Swiss timepieces who have been crafting some of the most incredible watches since 1830. Ironically known for their timeless designs, their collections are ultimately quite classic but the sheer detail is enough to get you going - just check out the automatic technology on display in the picture below.

This is where we turn our attention to our chosen piece - the "Capeland" chronograph watch. This alligator strap watch has just enough edge to stand out but its undeniable elegance keeps it under control, which is exactly why we love it. You can waste valuable time simply immersed in the visible technology, which just so happens to be protected by sapphire crystal in a case of polished stainless steel. Not too shabby!

To make a change from the initial Autumn grey, the stunning new Constellation Blue collection from Vertu certainly packs a colourful punch. This collaboration between creative brand Italia Independent and the mobile and cell-phone giant welcomes two new limited edition styles to the mix: the Constellation Quest Blue [pictured left and below] and the Constellation Blue [pictured bottom].

Both styles feature blue carbon fibre composites, polished blue stainless steel and blue metallic sapphire crystal keys. In case you were wondering - yes this is the ultimate in mobile luxury. Lapo Elkann - founder of Italia Independent - references the sea and it's vastness as the inspiration behind his designs but with only 77 of the Quest [left] produced and 777 of the Constellation Blue it's hardly a vast supply.

An unlikely partnership has formed between high-street retailer Superdry and tailor to the stars Timothy Everest. The Sebiro collection, which has launched at Superdry's London flagship on Regent Street, sees four sartorial characters brought to life: The Country Rebel [above and below], The Bank Robber [left] and the San Fransiscan [bottom]. You'll find the fourth - The Super Spy - on the Superdry website - he wouldn't be so super if he was so easy to find.

Everest who has dressed the likes of Gary Oldman, David Beckham and Jay-Z - to name a few [honestly the list is incredible] - has given Superdry's casual agenda some slick tailored options for AW12. This is certainly one of the most exciting collaborations for this season and the clothing features an incredible attention to detail with garments made from the finest cloths - without the luxury price tag. Win win.

The roots for American heritage brand The Frye Company go as far down as 1863 as a company specialising in worker boots for labourers in Marlboro, Massachusetts. Well over a century later and with a flagship store in New York City, Frye have established themselves as a leader in the leather goods market.

With clean cut shoes, rugged boots and hard-wearing sneakers it's all about longevity with these pieces and the price-tags are cheaper than a lot designer gear that's out there. Their AW12 video campaign [below] was shot in Wyoming - mountains, lakes and  leather boots - just perfect.

British heritage brand Private White V.C. are the epitome of home-grown style and true English manufacturing. With all garments made in their Manchester factory that spans a history of 100 years we know that these guys know more than just a thing or two about the clothing industry.

Authentic and hand-crafted are words that come as standard here. We're going a bit mental for their coats and jackets with bombers, peacoats, trenches, waxed cotton, British wools, tweeds and much more - need we continue? Well yes, this weekend sees the release of their new limited edition jacket [pictured left] - entirely made to order and priced at £695. Available online - probably not for long as the AW12 season is having a love affair with all things camo.

Famed sportswear brand K-Swiss have released their new Gowmet style in a mid-top option with premium leather or suede constructions. These slick new styles from the Californian company are perfect for the Autumn season with their earthy palette and that little bit of height to keep those delicate ankles warm.

The brand are known for the creation of the first American all-leather tennis shoe back in '66 where it made its début on the courts of Wimbledon. It's difficult to get more classic than that in the world of active footwear. But the famed five stripes have really taken a turn for the best with these new styles - the option in matte brown leather [below] is our favourite.

DITA Eyewear is one of those brands with attitude and that comes at no surprise when we can see them on the likes of Brad Pitt, Kanye West, Jay-Z and David Beckham. Straight out of Los Angeles, this fairly young brand [founded in 1995] remains independent and can be found globally in retailers including Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Fred Segal, Aloha Rag, Dover Street Market UK, On Pedder HK, Harrolds AUS and Collette FR.

The AW12 collection has a real modern retro feel featuring slick matte black as well as classic tortoise shell and punchy gold. We love that nostalgic impression you get from these styles - something you might expect with the brand's design studio being on the doorstep of Tinseltown; an attitude and influence we're happy to see all over the world.

This weekend plays host to the Goodwood Revival - self proclaimed as the "world's most popular historic motor race meeting" - that sees a nostalgic gathering of styles from the 40s, 50s and 60s. This step back in time also saw actor Ewan McGregor step out in the iconic British luxury brand Belstaff - you can see him in the AW12 campaign [pictured top].

Donning a leather biker jacket and trouser combo from the AW12 collection [pictured below], the famous Scot looked very much at home on his Period wheels. He led the brand's racing team for the opening parade lap of the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy with enviably effortless style - as we expected of course. As for the new Belstaff collection, it's a re-interpretation of the design archive and history so it's all about contemporary classics. They've come a long way since their Staffordshire founding in 1924.

Bargain retailer TK Maxx are showing off their AW12 collection with some fantastic pieces in the mix. The majority of the brand's stock is actually current season merchandise, which a lot of people might not realise - so if you care about being up-to-date with your style then TK Maxx has certainly got it going on.

Even in-store we are starting to see some changes as they start to move away from the less-than-pleasant shopping experience of sifting through over-crowded rails and toward more standard merchandising. However you'll still need to be a bit ruthless at times because at such low prices the top stuff will disappear fast and may not return; like this Feraud blazer [left] at £69.99 instead of it's heftier £270 RRP.

Denim giants G-Star RAW are to launch a limited edition range of unisex collection in collaboration with Japanese Fashion Director and Stylist Tomoki Sukezane. The jeans in question are a re-worked version of the brand's best-selling "Radar" style that here features a more tapered fit, red listing raw denim and a signature embroidery in place of the usual leather patch.

“My first contact with G-Star Raw was when they were showing their collection at NYFW in 2007. After that I curated a Raw Night at Le Baron in Tokyo, which was a great experience and was the base for this collaboration.” - Tomoki Sukezane. The collection will be available exclusively at Selfridges and the brand's website from Saturday 14th September. Go forth and get your his and hers denims - not something you hear very often.

Footwear brand Palladium have released a new video campaign for AW12 that celebrates the launch of their new waterproof style [pictured left]. The video [below] created by cinematographer Andrew Wonder and urban explorer Steve Duncan features an exploration beneath the city of sin.

The video takes us away from the lights and sounds of Las Vegas to the subterranean tunnel system where we can see the boots at work. At least we now know what to buy when we want to stylishly trudge through sewer systems.

River Island have certainly been keeping busy with new menswear ventures this year. With the new Holloway Road collection out now and this month we are also very excited to see a new line of lux formalwear known as the Life of Tailor capsule collection. Pushing any high-street stigmas firmly aside, these pieces take inspiration from Savile Row's timeless design and craft.

The brand have gone hard with detail here with under-collar shirt patterns, contrast velvet lapels [pictured above] and punchy paisley blazer linings -areas frequently overlooked on the high-street. As River Island move from strength to strength with their menswear it's this collection that has us flagging the formal events in our calendar just so we have an excuse to don some of this slick apparel.
