River Island Release Life of Tailor Formal Collection this Month

River Island have certainly been keeping busy with new menswear ventures this year. With the new Holloway Road collection out now and this month we are also very excited to see a new line of lux formalwear known as the Life of Tailor capsule collection. Pushing any high-street stigmas firmly aside, these pieces take inspiration from Savile Row's timeless design and craft. 

The brand have gone hard with detail here with under-collar shirt patterns, contrast velvet lapels [pictured above] and punchy paisley blazer linings -areas frequently overlooked on the high-street. As River Island move from strength to strength with their menswear it's this collection that has us flagging the formal events in our calendar just so we have an excuse to don some of this slick apparel.

River Island are making their first festival appearance this year at Reading this weekend with their pop-up Exchange shop. Their Swap-Shop concept gives guys the chance to part ways with their old clothing and get some brand new threads from the brand. And it's absolutely free. We kid you not!

As well as giving away clothes, there will also be an exclusive range of festival accessories on sale to keep you styled up and entertained. A La Male recently went behind-the-scenes at River Island's latest campaign shoot for their new Holloway Road collection. Here's a little teaser of what we saw and we have to say that the collection is rather nice - a step up from their début range of blue-collar workwear with the introduction of tailored heritage pieces. The recent announcement of River Island's collaboration with iconic musician Rihanna will never disguise the growing strength of the menswear collection - even if it is very exciting news. We're focusing our attention on the AW12 collection already available with some great pieces for the continuing festival season.
